I know Heath is away until the 17th Nov. But even before, when he was still there, he was kinda buried. Yet, we know (from a former interview) that Wade took the best of Nexus with him to SmackDown when he created The Corre in January; so Heath isn't all that bad, naw mean?
I created this petition this afternoon on Twitter: twitition.com/dkn23
"For Heath Slater to receive the push he deserves in WWE"
A petition that might actually reunite both fans and haters.
In the beginning of 2010, the WWE presented a show called NXT where 8 young wrestling talents were going to compete against each other. The winner would be transferred higher, in MONDAY NIGHT RAW. Amongst them, we saw HEATH SLATER - the One Man Rock Band - as someone:
- spontaneous
- strong
- extremely fast, agile & reactive
- with a great variety of moves (including high-flyer's style)
- fast learner
- with an amusing gimmick.
As no other rookies could defeat him, it took a veteran (Kane) to end his victory streak. Even as "just a rookie", he managed to defeat the World Heavyweight Champion (Chris Jericho).
Later on (NEXUS [RAW-2010]; The CORRE [SmackDown!-2011]), we saw that he was great in a group (but unfortunately often shadowed), excellent in duos, but also brilliant in solo... *when* the WWE gave him the chance to prove himself.
Recently, Heath Slater has been more like a foil for the other Superstars, to be even thrown into mere Squash Matches sometimes.
We're talking about a 3-times FCW champion and 3-times Tag-team WWE champion, here. Someone with an original gimmick, who can be both funny AND efficient in a ring, as long as the WWE gives him an opportunity. It's so bad that you have to go to House Shows to see what his true potential is. Why can't the WWE show that on TV too?
He's not perfect on the microphone? Well, a bunch of other wrestlers are in that case, and STILL receive some push. The WWE doesn't seem to realize the diamond they have here. A raw diamond, perhaps still in needs of a few more cuts, but a diamond anyway.
Now, whether you're a fan or a hater, you have all interest into seeing Heath getting a push:
- FANS OF HEATH: you're probably upset that his talent is wasted so much and you know that - given the opportunity - he's capable of Great Things. Signing this petition ( twitition.com/dkn23 ) won't make anything worse anyway.
- SLATER-HATERS: if you hate him, based on the fact that he's a Heel and you prefer the Faces[/li][li][/b][/i]: just understand that Heath could be an interesting Heel and would provide great and entertaining matches against your favorite Faces. And if you hate him simply because of his gimmick, well... As long as the WWE doesn't give him the opportunity to improve it, it's not gonna change. C'mon, we're not in kindergarten school anymore. Aren't you curious? Don't you want to see what kind of "good" evil he could be for your heroes?
